Soap News: Kelly Sullivan exits GH while Lisa LoCicero is sticking around – Plus: Jen Lilley debuts on DAYS
-- Kelly Sullivan confirmed on her Facebook fan page that she’ll be leaving General Hospital.
Thank you all so much for your support and loyalty. You are my life long family and I cannot express how much I appreciate each of you. You have really made my experience here on GH a wonderful adventure. I wanted to fill you all in on the details and try to answer some of your questions.
I am not returning to GH after August.
This is not a contract issue, I have been written off the show.
I do no have any information on potential daytime opportunities.
Lastly, I have no ill feelings towards any of the staff or crew connected to the show or the network. I will miss everyone dearly.
Sullivan took over the role of Kate Howard on the ABC soap in 2011 replacing Megan Ward in the role. This past year, Kate became integrated with her alter, Connie.
-- Meanwhile, Lisa LoCicero, who plays Connie’s cousin Olivia, has inked a new deal with GH. The actress tweeted that while the deal closed a while ago, she kept quiet as to not spoil her character’s comatose status.
-- While she’s no longer on contract, look for Jacqueline MacInnes Wood to appear as Steffy on The Bold and the Beautiful in scenes airing next Thursday, July 11 and Friday, July 12.
-- Michael Graziadei will return as Daniel for Michelle Stafford’s (Phyllis) upcoming exit. Look for Daniel to return to Genoa City for four episodes beginning Monday, July 29 (in Canada; Tuesday, July 30 in the U.S.).
-- Looks like Oprah finally came through. OWN will rebroadcast the first 40 episodes of the revived All My Children and One Life to Live beginning July 15. While there is a Canadian OWN, a representative from the Corus-owned Canadian specialty channel has revealed to me that the network has no current plans to air the sudsers. FX Canada originally had the Canadian rights to the shows, but the deal fell through when Prospect Park changed the production model from four episodes a week to two. The show is currently available to Canadians on iTunes – which will now release both episodes of each show on Mondays, just like with Hulu.
-- Jen Lilley (ex-Maxie, GH) will make her anticipated Days of our Lives debut this Wednesday, July 3. The actress revealed to Soap Opera Uncensored that her character’s name is Theresa.

Rants & Raves:
• DAYS is continuing its upswing by having Kristen “rape” Eric.
• Any week that has JJ driving Daniel and Jennifer crazy, is a good week for viewers.
• The only positive from the whole Franco/Kiki with OLTL actors mess is that they’ve cast the incredible Maura West as Ava…the one saving grace of this story.
• While Summer’s paternity reveal is moving so slow, I’m loving the Billy stuff. Here’s hoping he spends more time with Chloe. The “Chilly” pairing ended way too abruptly a few years back.
